Things are feeling very festive around here at Urbanic these days. We just finished installing our holiday window and I kinda want to live in it! Every year, my friend Em and I do it together as a little ‘kick off the season’ tradition. We were literally at the shop ’till 3am and she blew me away with her creative energy and vision for this winter wonderland. I’m so lucky to have her. Today we are crazy busy setting up for Cocoa and Cupcakes (our Christmas party tomorrow night). This year is going to be *a m a z i n g*. Our line-up is off the charts!
See you there?

Every year I look forward to our Kate Spade orders that arrive at Urbanic around the holidays. One of my absolute faves in the collection is this 2012 spiral bound desk calendar. Could it be anymore playful, whimsical or colorful? Love it … (and that nail polish color!)
Just a few days after our Cocoa and Cupcakes party is the Abbot Kinney Holiday Stroll! Mark your calendars to stroll our street on December 4th and experience the sights and sounds of holiday cheer. There will be snowy family activities plus specialty shop and gallery events throughout the evening. Urbanic will be open until 8pm.
Happy Monday folks! I’ve started my calendar round up on all of all the 2012 calendars we have in at Urbanic and thought this hand-lettered watercolor calendar by Linda and Harriet was a nice way to start off the week.
Join us on Thursday December 1st for our 2nd Annual Cocoa and Cupcakes holiday event. We have the best of the best on board for this party! Snow and Graham is flying in from Chicago to host a gift topper paper social, Frosted Cupcakery will be spreading out the finest in holiday baked sweetness, Vosges will be warming us up with their ever-famous Haut Chocolat, and the world renowned Bonnie Tsang will be capturing photos of the evening in a way that no one else can. L.A bloggers and design lovers, Join us for an evening under the starts to unite and celebrate the holidays together over cupcakes and cocoa!
See you there!

I’m loving our selection of custom holiday cards this year at the shop. I mean seriously, look at this wonder printed on wood paper below. SO awesome right? The three pictured here are from Elum. We also have a huge selection right now from our other brilliant designers as well. Check out … Wiley | Prentis | Pica | Avie | Spark | Paper + Cup (plus several more). Come in, or click those links for previews. Just email us your text and photo if you want and we’ll get it all set up for you!
Rifle came out with this new collection of fall and Thanksgiving paper paradise. Thank you notes, invitations, place cards and greeting cards. Everything a host or guest could possibly need in the way of paper products to make this season special. I was so excited to get them in at Urbanic, and that little squirrel is killing me with cuteness!
Scout’s Honor Co. is now at Urbanic! We love this ‘new to us’ line based out of Burlington Vermont and think you will too. The designer, Annemarie Buckley, specializes in illustration and hand type making her collection absolutely like no other out there.
New in the shop are these adorable rubber stamp kits from Ink + Wit. We stocked up on the bear, the recipe cards and the ‘birds delight’ just in time for some holiday d.i.y!
Hope you all had an awesome Halloween. I had my hands full yesterday with our little skunk and breakdancer. That being said, I’m taking a candy break right now from my workday! (hee hee!) The two pictures below have been on my desktop for a while. I actually have this exact gumball machine in storage. I scored it from the Rosebowl last year with the intention of doing something cute with it at Urbanic. Now that I announced that info I really need to get on it. The other pic of the favor boxes is intriguing me. I think it’s the color story … or maybe those black stripes behind the blue. I’m planning our Urbanic holiday party right now and going to experiment to see if this color scheme could work. (will keep you posted on both!)
