This past Thursday was the Oh Joy! party at Urbanic. Joy is a friend, as well as an amazingly talented designer and blogger. The event was a celebratory launch party for the new collection of stationery and desk accessories she recently released for Chronicle Books.
I had a lot of fun working on this party mainly because of the team of talented people that made it all happen.
It was an evening of champagne and cupcakes – and I am still thinking about the cupcakes! I had the pleasure of meeting with Stacia Hanley from Frosted Cupcakery in Long Beach. She brought over 400 mini cupcakes in assorted flavors and I can honestly say I am their new biggest fan. The best news is they are about to open another location in L.A!
The feature activity of the party was a photobooth by PhotoBooth Love. This is a fun and genius business just launched by Danni Hong (from Oh Hello Friend) and her brother. I adore everything that Danni does and was telling them that night how fascinated I was that they just decided one day to build a photobooth and make it happen. … I want one!
Carissa from JL designs adorned the place with flower arrangements and candles. She went modern neutral with a beautiful mix of succulents and china mums. I met her at a photo shoot a few months ago and watched her turn ordinary things into works of art. I remember thinking “this girl has got skills”
And finally.. how lucky were we to have the whole event photographed by Max Wanger ?! Seriously though, he is a total celeb in my book. You must check out the full set of pictures from the event, right here!
A special thanks to all of you who attended the party. I so wish I could have chatted with everyone more that night (I was in hostess mode)
Hope to see you again soon,
*A

Yet another reason we all need to move to be a lot closer to Urbanic…
