Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! Over the weekend I received a special package in the mail from my little sister. Inside was an advent calendar that she hand-made with a piece of her artwork. This has become a yearly tradition that many of the people in her life look forward to. She has all of her friends and family email her either a quote, an activity, poetry, scripture, a memory, or something else special to open during the season. I look forward to it every year, because it is truly amazing! I will try to take some pictures of it to share with you all. Today, I am feeling inspired by the fun you can have with paper. When we were kids, I remember that our family had a glass jar that we filled up with little ideas of neat things we could to do together. On special days we would pick out of the jar and the adventure would unfold. A particular memory I’m having right now was our whole family sitting in the closet eating lunch together. We always were an odd bunch!
update: Below is the advent calendar Ana made before the doors and numbers were added!

I was so honored to be featured on the Smock website as a store spotlight! I love this line completely and am inspired daily by their great design, so it was a real treat to be mentioned and interviewed for their blog. I even got to answer some challenging questions such as … “If you were invited to the White House for dinner, what would you wear?” and “what are you favorite trends in paper and stationery and your predictions for upcoming trends”.
You can read the full post right here!
A very special thanks to Smock and Cyd Converse for the nice words!
Any of you that have been reading Parcel Post for a while probably already know how much I am a big fan of Jay Kelly’s art. This morning I am really excited to announce that Jay is making some small prints from the wintery Park City collection that he did earlier this year and printing them small on cards that will be sold exclusively at Urbanic! They are amazing (and so frame-able!) I seriously get lost in his work. The pieces below capture the essence of the chill / warmth of this special holiday time of year.
other posts I wrote on Jay Kelly are here, here, and here.
We have been busy this week giving the store a little makeover and getting Urbanic all dolled up for the holiday season! I am really loving all of our shipments these days and can’t wait to post next week on some of my new favorites. photos I took above: moonlight lanterns from Nkuku (UK), wraps from MaraMi, and invitation by Pica Press
Loving all of this color and creativity! above : Artenica’s new flower bottle stoppers + a sea of envelope liners by Mr Boddington
Right about this time every year, I feel like fall and the Thanksgiving holiday get suddenly fast-forwarded. I always want to savor fall until the very end, and put a blinder up to all things December until November has fulfilled its duty. This task is completely impossible for me since I have a retail store, but the sentiment is there. Below are some amazing stationery + art pieces with some warm golden fall tones.
step by step wedding stationery by chewing the cud • kyoto wedding invites by studio on fire • alexis invitation by sub studio • pen and ink bird drawing by Tegan White found on this amazing blog • prepetual letterpressed calendar by orange beautiful
New reusable fabric wraps from Chewing the Cud will be arriving at Urbanic any day! I am really excited about this “Give Cheer” collection for the holidays. The wraps are so full of sprite and cheer… hence the name!
* If you want to pre-order these lovelies, let us know, we will be shipping these out as soon as they arrive!*
We are sort of transitioning into Holiday around here at the shop, so I have purple on my mind. (also I am wearing it today which was admit-ably part of the inspiration!) Hope you have a great and adventurous weekend my friends. *A

A few days ago the latest issue of Utterly Engaged came out and I have been glowing ever since, because Urbanic was featured as a Hidden Gem!

A special thanks to Lucia, Henny and Eva over at UE for including us in this issue!
If you haven’t been to the Utterly Engaged site yet, you should definitely start with issue no.001 and work your way up to 005! The whole e.zine is packed with inspiration and is complete eyecandy.
I am experiencing a bit of coolness overload, now that I have discovered Brooklyn Rehab. It is a line made of vintage and found objects reclaimed to perfection. I love love love (and want) these numbered napkin rings! Oh what I would do with these little stylers for Thanksgiving dinner – if I had a big long table!
Also pictured: the NYC souvenir, a ceramic owl, walnut wood key, and the whale plaque. You can find more of their line, right here.
Since I am surrounded by so much candy after Halloween, (our little bumble bee raked it in this year!) I was inspired to post about some candy colored favorites around here!
