post No.467 Creative Inc. party at Urbanic!

I’m about to hop on a flight back to L.A from NYC, but wanted to real quick post some exciting news so you could save the date.  My friends Joy and Meg just released a new book called Creative Inc. It’s a great 411 of how to start and run a creative freelance business.  The talent of these two combined makes this book sensational.  It is truly a must have, as well as a must give!

We’re hosting a book tour party at the shop on September 16th from 7-10pm.  You can RSVP right here.

post No.466 Subject: back to school

These new composition notebooks just came in from Paperwink

While many are using them for their back to school studies, I’ve been using mine making a list of to-do’s for the new house we just moved into.  (This is why I’ve been m.i.a all week, packing and un-packing!)  I’ve missed you peeps.  …  Leaving tomorrow morning for the NY gift show and will be back Tuesday with lots of new finds.

happy weekend,

post No.454 Brown Paper

Joshua and I have been moving (our home) for the last few days to a new abode in Venice.  Just got to the shop and am so happy to see these paper delights by Brown Paper Design are here from London, and on the shelves. Too cute!  Anyway, posting will be sparse for the next few days until we get settled but I’ll be back soon, with more treats.   xo *A

post No.453 Japanese Masking Tapes

Lets face it, Japanese masking tapes make everything look cool.  We’ve had them in the shop for a while now and they are getting increasingly more popular. If you don’t have any yet, you need to get on that and unleash your creativity asap.  I’m SO looking forward to ordering a bunch of new styles in NYC next week.

happy weekend,  *A

post No.452 wanted …

Am I the only one who gets a real thrill out of going to the summer seasonal section at the drugstore?  It’s kind of one of those things I look forward to every year (much like the “back to school” aisles).  Anyway, in the drugstore the other day I decided that I really want a fun beach umbrella. We always had one growing up but I’ve never invested in one since.  The time has come and it can’t be just any umbrella, it will of course need to be special.  –  will  keep you posted on what I find.

post No.451 Forest Fairytale

I put together this guest post for Brooklyn Bride yesterday on some Forest Fairytale wedding inspiration. One of our Urbanic brides recently shared some photos with me of her wedding day and I was charmed by her use of woodland silhouettes for the table numbers and escort cards. This really got me going on this theme…
