post No.505 simply thankful

It’s a week of thanksgiving and what better way to share your thanks than these limited edition sets from SimpleSong.  I love the idea of passing these little cards around the dinner table before giving thanks.  Each set contains 6 lists and pencils stamped with the word “thankful” in gold.  If those aren’t cool enough, there is also ‘thankful garland’ available for your decor needs.  Letterpressed tags attached on jute twine  =  the perfect way to accent a table.   (get them here)

post No.504 return address luxury

With the holidays rapidly approaching, I have time management on the mind.  We send out a few hundred holiday cards from the shop, and then I have our family cards to send out as well. That being said, I don’t plan on writing out our return address 500 times!  I’m all over our custom return address options this year, for my personal mailings and to give as gifts.

Option #1 (above) custom wood stamps by Paperwink.  $28 each plus you can order colored ink pads in red, blue if you’re not feeling the black.

Option #2 Pica custom labels. $40 for 60 custom labels. peel em’,  stick em’,  DONE.  (…and cute!)

Option #3 If you aren’t into manual stamping, or peeling|sticking then how ’bout pushing? These self-inking stamps from 3DW come in like 60+ styles to choose from. $45 bucks will get you one of these inking champions.

IF you would like to order any of these custom return address labels but don’t live near the store, let us  know, and we’ll email you the order forms! (hello@urbanicpaper.com)

post No.502 H.I.T.C.H.E.D

I am probably the last person on the planet to post a recap of Hitched which is completely ridiculous, since Urbanic was a host of the event, but I tell you, I have 2 very good reasons why.  The first being that I just birthed myself a new little sidekick who likes ALOT of attention. The second reason, quite honestly, is that it has felt like an overwhelming feat. The event was literally SO amazing that I didn’t know how I could accurately sum it up with a few photos and some text in the confines of a little blog post. Lucky for me, I know a lot of talented people who did an amazing job with this summary, so I have gathered up some clips and links to share with you. The night started off with sights, sounds and tastes of pure sophisticated creativity and ended with a celebratory dance party of raining confetti. If you missed it, not to worry, the next one is coming soon!

Yippppeeee! It’s coming! The Urbanic annual Holiday event is in just a few weeks, so mark your calendars and get your RSVPs in asap cause spots fill up fast. This year is gonna be a good one. We’ll be serving gourmet hot chocolate from Mariebelle NY, (classic as well as some sassy nightcap versions) and we’ll have the most festive of seasonal baked goodness from Frosted Cupcakery (think candy canes and gingerbread). Special guest Ebony Snow Chafey from Snow & Graham will be flying in from Chicago to host a D.I.Y workshop on making holiday decorations for your home. “What does this mean?” you may be thinking … well it means, come make adorable holiday garlands and ornaments with us out of our super rad Snow and Graham wrapping papers! You have no idea how many exclamation marks I wanted to pack this post with. I’ve edited several out, as I’m trying to contain myself, but believe me it was hard to do, cause this party is gonna be off the hook. Here’s the deets- Thursday, December 2nd, from 7-10 at Urbanic. R.S.V.P right here!

post No.498 All Aboard!

As many of you may already know I’m a huge fan of Chewing the Cud. Viola’s work never disappoints, so this morning’s wedding-weekly highlight is this adventurous little invitation set from her letterpress album.  Admittedly the song by John Denver “leaving on a jet plane” is stuck in my head right now, which may have influenced my decision but either way its adorable!  I’ll leave it at that for today since I am typing this with one hand. (baby in the other).  xo *A

post No.497 book pages + garland

This holiday season I was thinking of decorating the store with some pretty things made up of neutral colors and metallics. Specifically I’m feeling the idea of the soft detailed look of old book pages mixed up with some sparkle and bling to make things festive. I went online to do a little research on how to execute the plan and stumbled across these different garlands that got me going on a few ideas.  I’ll be sure to unveil the final once we’ve devised the master plan.  xo *A

post No.496 Found Gift Tags

Seriously? Notebook, graph and airmail paper all turned into gift tags?!  So simple, but so spot on. I just ordered these cuties from The Found for Urbanic and am thinking they would be adorable for gift wrapping on kraft paper with some bakers twine and jute.

Wow, I think I just listed all of my favorite paper things in 1 blog post!

post No.495 ink + wit 2011 calendars

Just received these new limited edition 2011 letterpressed calendars in the shop from Ink + Wit titled ‘Totem Animals at Play’.  Throughout the calendar the totem animals are illustrated along with their symbolism in a modern, refined and simple way. The caption on the front cover reads “pulling the weeds | planting good seeds”.  Each month has a narrative about experiencing the presence and beauty of life at it’s fullest.  Such a good wall hanging, and such a great gift!
