post No.796 Breaking News: Vintage Seed Packet Stamps

I just received a tip-off from my friend JL that USPS is releasing these ‘vintage seed packet’ forever stamps for pre-order on 4|3.  I hugely care about the stamps I put on my mail so this is some fun news.  I’m guessing that many of you brides and mail lovers out there are equally excited as well, so heeere’s the link.

Happy weekend all,

P.S Those Asters!!!

post No.793 Lately …

Happy almost weekend everyone! From time to time I grab a few shots that I’ve posted on twitter + instagram lately and share them here on the blog.

We’ve been busy, busy working on our booth for The Cream Event this weekend! If you’re coming, swing by and say hello. We’ll have a booth full of goodies for sale and lots of new wedding invitation styles to preview.

We’re dying over here at this new gorgeous paper that came in at Urbanic from Nepal. It’s made out of tree bark by a women’s co-operative.

Last week, I gave a very warm welcome to my shiny new desk scissors.

post No.729 Hello Summer! (the window)

I haven’t posted in a while and it’s good to be back.  Hopefully those of you in the U.S are gearing up for some fireworks, sparklers and apple pie come tomorrow! Recently we had the opportunity to work with the talented duo from Gather events for our last store window installation. As you can see below it was bursting with paper charm! The girls hand-crafted a blooming paper backdrop and hanging mobiles made out of striped paper straws. Eye-candy I say!

post No.710 Two Days Until …

I’m packing my bags today and heading to NYC in the morning for the NSS (national stationery show).  While there, I’ll be plotting out purchases for Urbanic for the next 6 months and meeting up with many of the amazing designers who’s work we represent in the shop. We’ve been bombarded with a ton of good mail over the last few weeks full of amazing booth invitations.  (be on the look out for post No.711 where I’ll document all of this for you)  The one below is from one of my favorite lines, The Regional Assembly of Text. It has a revolving count-down wheel of days till the show.  2 more days!

post No.640 our holiday window …

Things are feeling very festive around here at Urbanic these days. We just finished installing our holiday window and I kinda want to live in it!  Every year, my friend Em and I do it together as a little ‘kick off the season’ tradition. We were literally at the shop ’till 3am and she blew me away with her creative energy and vision for this winter wonderland. I’m so lucky to have her. Today we are crazy busy setting up for Cocoa and Cupcakes (our Christmas party tomorrow night). This year is going to be *a m a z i n g*.  Our line-up is off the charts!

See you there?

post No.532 happy weekend

Wow. it’s been a week! Our latest newsletter went out, we received shipments from WileyValentine, Aquiesse and Japanese Market plus a ton of Valentine’s cards of every sort!  Many happy brides came in and picked up their wedding invitations and many happy customers picked up their custom stamp orders. I was asked to be a judge in the Smock Design Contest and had a blast choosing my favorite in social stationery.  Aside from all this we have been ridiculously busy getting everything ready for Hitched this weekend in Palm Springs. We’ve been stuffing goodie bags, prepping dance floor decor and finalizing millions of last minute details. Hoping to see many of you there on Sunday. For those of you who live too far away, I will of course be posting a re-cap.

post No.418 Friday at the Shop

It’s Friday at the Shop! First Friday as a matter of fact, so most of the shops, restaurants and galleries on Abbot Kinney are getting ready for the evening of late night festivities.  We will be open until 10pm tonight, so swing by and say hi if you are in the hood. Today’s post has to do with a vision I recently had to have a Cupcake Saturday banner made that we could hang out front of the shop each week.  I contacted Milla Love – (since she is the queen-bee of banner making) and told her what I had in mind. Today she emailed me a few photos of my job in progress, so I thought I’d  share them with you.  Hoping to have this beauty hung by next weekend, but not sure as it still needs to come across the pond.  Will keep you posted. Until then, have a great weekend,  xo *A

p.s While I was at it, I ordered some of the birthday banners shown below for the shop!
